The crown is the main part of the cap that fits the top of the head. It is also the primary area for embellishments on the front panel, such as embroidery, prints, woven patches, appliqués, and more.

Structured Cap: The two front panels are stiff and reinforced with buckram inside.
Unstructured Cap: The two front panels are soft.
The visor is the part of the cap that provides protection from the sun. It can be flat or curved, depending on the cap design.
The inside material is plastic, covered with two layers of fabric on the top and bottom.
The top and under visor can also be customized with embroidery or printing.
The small holes around the top of the crown, called eyelets, make the cap more ventilated.
The eyelets can be made with embroidery in the color of your choice or with metal material.
Sweatband
The band around the inside edge of the crown is designed to absorb sweat when wearing the cap.
Typically, the sweatband material is cotton or quick-dry fabric and is usually in a dark color. It can also be printed.
For flex-style caps, the sweatband is made of elastic material.
Tape
A small band inside the crown covers the seams of each panel. It is made of T/C fabric and can also be printed.
Woven Label
Customized woven labels are sewn onto the sweatband.
The care label provides washing instructions for the custom cap. It is a small printed label sewn inside the sweatband and can be customized as well.
The additional fabric inside the crown enhances the cap’s design, making it more fashionable.
The lining can be made from different materials and can feature all-over prints.
There are multiple styles of closures for adjustable caps, such as 7-hole plastic snaps, leather or self-fabric straps with metal buckles, Velcro, and more.
For fitted and flex styles, there is no closure on the back.
Fabric pieces are sewn together to form the cap.
The panels of different styles and shapes of caps vary depending on the headwear design.
5-panel and 6-panel caps are more widespread according to designs.
